The hubs, Lazaro, and I met at church. He came to church with his uncle who was attending church at that time.
He had just come to Canada, so it was a new country and a new faith. He had a
originally only come for a year but ended up falling in love and staying for
life! (SCORE!) To make the story short (one day I will write out the whole love
story!) we started dating and had a lovely courtship, great times,
great memories, I remember feeling like the most happiest young lady on the
earth, who had found the best prince she could ever imagined. I can’t really say
I had a proposal I wasn’t expecting to happen at some point, because my hubs pretty much told
me he wanted to marry me, since we started dating and I (and my mother) started
planning how I would like our wedding to be! However, he did officially propose
at church in front of the whole congregation, which I did not expect! Some
people don’t like that, a public proposal, but I did because I considered the
congregation like blood family and I wanted them all to be part of my
happiness. In May 2006, we were officially married before God and man. It
was a great and happy day! We went to Vancouver, BC for our beautiful honeymoon
and then returned home to start our life together. Life was amazing! However,
it was time to start multiplying. In February 2010, our beautiful little
girl Breanna came into this world and blessed our marriage in more ways
that we could have ever imagined. Truly, the scripture is right when it says “Behold,
children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.”
Psalms 127:3…..she is the greatest inheritance we could have ever gotten from our
heavenly father. UPDATE: Since then, we also had another baby girl Mikaela, in 2014! We are blessed!
The call to ministry: Ever since I was a young girl I felt a call to
ministry. I knew that when I grew, God was going to call me to serve him in the
leadership of the church. When I was dating my Husband, he told me about his burden
for souls and that He felt a call to ministry in the future. I knew, this was a
confirmation from God, that this was the man He wanted for me. Once married, we
felt this burden grow as our relationship matured. We had a few opportunities
arise and we prayed about them, however, none of them seemed to be the one God
intended us to go to. We didn’t feel God’s confirmation for those places. So
over the years we kept on praying for this burden we felt. We didn’t just want
to pick up and go to a place, that wasn’t where God wanted us to be! We had
that fear of being outside of God’s will.
In March 2011 our Pastors approached us and told us that they had been praying for a few years about us helping them in the ministry and that they felt that now was the right time to speak to us about it. They wanted us to assist their ministry as Assistant Pastors. We prayed about it and it was like a dream come true. We love this church so much, and have a burden for this city! We felt God's confirmation, that this is where He wants us to be right now. God is the one who puts love and burden for a place and currently our burden is here.

Currently I serve as Worship leader and with my Husband as Assistant Pastors at the church where I grew up at. Our Pastors our amazing people and we are so privileged to work alongside them! The hubs also loves to teach and has always been involved in teaching either the youth or adults in some form at our church. We are so blessed with opportunities to serve the Lord and privileged that God would use us in any way. We are not worthy but He chooses and does as He pleases. We are only clay in the Potter's hands, at His disposal. We decided a long time ago that our lives would be for Him. He’s been too good to us, not to serve HIM! All Glory be to Him.
What can I say, we are blessed. When God
is the centre of your life and marriage, you have no complaints, no regrets,
only blessings, peace and lots of love. I’m one happy lady. : )
I leave you with one of my favourite
parts of Scripture:
1 Chronicals 29:11-14
Yours,
O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all.
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all.
Both riches and honor come from
You,
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all.
And You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all.
“Now
therefore, our God,
We thank You
And praise Your glorious name.
We thank You
And praise Your glorious name.
But who
am I, and who are my people,
That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You.
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You.
